About me and my dogs

I have successfully completed a Animal Behaviour Course at Ethology Academy. I also have a diploma in Beauty therapy and my heart in dogs.

I visited with my friends in Fairbanks Alaska in 2008 to learn more about dogs (Huskies in particular) and the dog powered sport called mushing.

My husband and I like taking the dogs to the beach especially in the evenings when it is quiet on the west coast beaches of the Cape. Mushing has become a big part of our lives and we do this about 3 times a week.

Our weekends away from home always include the dogs coming along.

Having a busy schedule at work does not stop us from making an effort to spend as much quality time with our dogs as possible.

I read a lot of dog books in search for answers and opinions. But most of what I learn and know I learn through being with my dogs.

Dogs know who they are so when I look closely and keep quiet instead of being in control the whole time which by the way we are not I learn the most.

My two great friends and mentors are Kirsten Frisch from North Carolina originally from Alaska and Lynn Orbison from Alaska. These two people have guided me to where I am today concerning dogs and have taught me about life.

It's amazing how many wonderful people you can meet through the love of our dogs...

I thought it's time to update this page and tell everyone that apart from my day care and elite dog boarding facility I also run a training school for Huskies and their owners as well as have a dog shop on our premises. In 2009 we started with a recreational sledding club called All Breeds Sledding. For the pass 2 years I have been actively involved in Husky Rescue S.A. with fostering, training, caring and re homing of Northern breeds. I run the Cape town section of HRSA.

For now we mush on all the dirt roads the Cape has to offer and have endless nights snuggling up with our dogs.
