My favourite dog story

Well I have to say this is not the happiest moment but a good experience...

So over the holidays we went mushing one evening. I took my Labrador and Ice my one Husky. Ice is great lead dog. She has speed and endurance but she needs her partner to be strong in decision making. Gephetto has been sick and have not mushed for some time.

So off we went with a great Gee turn out of our yard onto the dirt road. We went straight ahead and did a resting stop and straight ahead again.

Then we did an about turn which went well...but just a few meters after we were turned around on our way heading home Gephetto decided that sniffing the next door dogs is much more fun. He took a very sharp Gee turn. I tried to pull the release system but I was too late so I jumped off.

I fell on the left side of my body, bending my neck and landing on my head and back on the side of my body again.

I just wanted to lie there, but I quickly realized my dogs!

So I looked up and saw Ice very unsure if mom is okay, Gephetto sort of looked like he said; can we do that again!

So we went home and I hooked up Decota my other Husky with Ice and off we went again so that Ice could see all is okay and that mushing is FUN!

I do have a helmet and protective gear, but I didn't wear it. So now I don't leave without it.
